Madonna’s brother Anthony Ciccone dead at 66, family member says

Late on Saturday, a family member confirmed the passing of Madonna’s older brother Anthony Ciccone. Aged 66, he was. Joe Henry, a musician who is married to Melanie, a sister of Madonna, posted on Instagram that his brother-in-law Anthony Gerard Ciccone has left this world last night. But trouble fades; and family remains— with hands reached across the table.”

Media reports over the past decade detailed a complicated relationship between Ciccone and his family; TMZ reports that he battled alcoholism and was at times homeless.
